Taking the High Road: Strengthening Coastal Flood Resilience of Transportation Infrastructure
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act created a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build coastal transportation infrastructure that can withstand rising seas and more severe storms, but only if resilience is built in from the start. CFRP co-facilitated this Nicholas Institute webinar examining how federal mechanisms like NEPA and the Federal Flood Risk Management Standard can be applied to reduce flood risk in coastal transportation projects. Panelists included Heather Holsinger (U.S. DOT), Jeremy Ketchum (Caltrans), and Kym Meyer (Southern Environmental Law Center), with Jeff Peterson moderating.
