Sustaining Coastal Wetlands in a Time of Severe Storms and Rising Seas

Coastal wetlands are facing an existential threat from rising seas and development, yet they provide critical storm protection, habitat, and water quality benefits. CFRP co-facilitated this ELI webinar on the tools, planning frameworks, and regulations needed to protect existing wetlands and preserve the upland corridors they will need to migrate into as sea levels rise. Panelists included Nicole Carlozo (Maryland DNR), Emily Donahoe (National Wildlife Federation), Mallory Eastland (South Atlantic Salt Marsh Initiative), and Amanda Santori (U.S. EPA), with Jeff Peterson moderating.
